Request to Host Future TRTR Annual Meetings

The TRTR Executive Committee cordially invites any TRTR member or related institution to serve as the host of future annual meetings, more specifically for 2011. Selections are made two years in advance. To apply, simply submit a proposal tothe Chairperson (jere@purdue.edu) prior to the Monday of the annual meeting. The proposal need not be detailed. It should simply express interest, provide a short description of the proposed meeting site(s) and include any other mitigating circumstances the applicant feels is relevant. Please limit the proposal to one page.

Although it has been tradition in the past to have the TRTR Chairperson and the annual meeting host from the same institution, they most certainly can be from different institutions. It is hoped that this reminder will encourage institutions which have not typically hosted the annual meeting in the past do so in the future. For example, Oak Ridge National Laboratory will be hosting our 2010 Meeting while Jere Jenkins (Purdue) serves as Chair.

The Executive Committee shall review the host institution proposals and form a recommendation. Typically this is done during the Executive Committee meeting on the Monday of the annual meeting. The Executive Committee shall then present the recommendation to the membership for vote during the business meeting of the same annual meeting.
